| 1. | Samarakan Trip 1.1 Interactor Lai Jie Hua informed all the members about the Samarakan Trip and showed them the some of the pictures of Samarakan Trip last year. 1.2 Details: a. Organised by National Science Society b. Date: 5th and 6th March 2011. c. Aim: To promote the biodiversity (flora and fauna) in Bintulu and also promote the conservation and preservation of nature d. Details i. This trip is only opened to 10 interactors. ii. Participants can know some rare species of amphibians iii. Special equipments needed will be provided by the organizers. iv. The participants will need to give a talk about the trip and organisms there at primary schools when they are back from the trips. |

Polystrene box used to serve food is replaced with plastics box ii. Students need to pay extra RM0.50 for it iii. After finished eating, the students can returned the plastics box for the refund of RM0.50 |

Visit to Perpikat/2010

Objective: To learn to be caring for handicapped children and to create a more loving and caring community | |
Brief Report: | After the exam, 26 interactors accompanied with two teacher advisors went to the Perpikat Centre. At 2.00p.m., we gathered at the gathering hall. After 15 minutes, we entered the hall, sang and danced with the children there. After the self-introduction, each interactor brought a child and be friend with them. We watched cartoons and had games liked “Guessing who” with them. Besides, we also had origami folding with them. Before we left, we gave them lantern and food to each of them. |
Gene Liew and Lai Jie Hua leaded everyone to sing.
Gene Liew sang and had interactions with everyone.
Everyone watch cartoon together.
Everyone was playing "Guess Who?"
Wong Yen Ting and Michelle Tiong taught everyone origami.
Everyone tried to fold origami cats.
Everyone took a group photo together.

Objective: To raise fund for the activities onwards | |
Brief Report: | During the Sport Carnival, 15 interactors sold food like egg tart, cake, waffles, Vitagen drink, muffins, Milo drink and yogurt. 5 interactors guarded at the stall while another 10 interactors went around to sell the goods. The sale received good response from the teachers and the students. |

Project 7/ Conservation Awareness and Biodiversity Education Program /2010

| Objective: to promote conservation of flora and fauna in Bintulu and promote a better understanding of biodiversity in Bintulu | |
| Brief Report: | CABEP 2010 was jointly organised by Natural Science Society Bintulu, Rotary Club of Bintulu and Sarawak Planted Forest Sdn Bhd. 11 interactors with 2 teachers participated in this program. Lectures about conservation in Sarawak Planted Forest Project, wildlife conservation, water conservation and Sarawak Forestry role and regulation were given to the interactors. At 7.30 pm, we started to go into the forest and searched for the creatures in the forest. We saw spiders, frogs, snails, birds, rare ferns and etc. At 7 o’clock in the next morning, we used the binoculars and walked around a large lake to observe birds and tried to identify them. After breakfast, we also carried on Odonata inventory and tried to identify them. We learned to differentiate the dragonflies from damselflies and also female from male. The interactors were divided into 3 groups and each group had different things to share on their experience throughout this adventure. |

| Brief Report: | Twelve interactors accompanied with three teacher advisors attended the talk organised by LAKU Bintulu. The manager of LAKU Bintulu, Mr. Chan briefed on the importance of water while the production maganer gave us a talk about the water treatment. Interactors took notes and asked questions during the talk. |

| Brief Report | During the Sport’s Day, directors and some club members sold hand-made pudding, pearl milk tea and soft drinks. The sale received good response from students although we faced competition among other stalls. The profit of this sale was RM150. |

| Brief Report: | On the school open day, SMK Bintulu Interact Club displayed the club’s organization chart, certificates and badges. The club also organised an old book sale simultaneously. Old books including magazines like “Reader’s Digest” were sold to the students on that day. |

| Brief Report | Around 30 interactors participated in this activity. The interactors were divided into groups and collected rubbish around the beach. Besides, the interactors also enjoyed themselves in a series of games designed by directors. During the picnic, interactors had the chance to communicate with each other and exchanged their thoughts about the club. |

| Brief Report: | SMK Bintulu Interact Club had organised a poster competition in conjuction with Rotary Club in Bintulu. The posters were printed and assigned to each class in SMK Bintulu. Interact club organised a poster decoration competition to encourage students take good care of the poster because the poster replayed many meaningful and educational messages. The winner classed were class 3D, 4s5 and 5s8. |
